Did you know May is Crafts and Design Month ! and there is a website designated to this, go browse at www.craftanddesignmonth.net and find out if there are any interesting events associated with this in your area before the end of May.

" Craft and Design Month is a national celebration and promotion of crafts across the UK during the whole of May 2011, (featuring National Ceramics Week at the beginning of the month ). Hundreds of craft events already take place successfully every year during the month of May; now Craft and Design Month can bring them all together under one banner to collectively target national and regional media. "

I haven't got my act together in time to put on an event of my own this year or link in to a local event but the concept looks good and I will be planning something for next year :)

I am participating in Surrey Artists Open studios this year and this will be my third year of involvement in the event.

Surrey Artists Open Studios is run by Surrey County Council Arts Department and runs from the 11th June to the 26th June 2011.

I am open Thursday 16th June in the evening, Friday 17th June, Saturday 18th June, Sunday 19th June, Thursday 23rd June in the evening, Friday 24th June, Saturday 25th June and Sunday 26th June. 

Opening times are 11.00am till 5.00pm daytime and 6.00 - 8.30pm Thursday evenings.

I am also exhibiting some wall hung plates at Ochre Print studio in Guildford during their Surrey Artists Open Studios event on Saturday 18th June and Sunday 19th June.
