» Listings for February 2010

Posted on Friday Feb 26 9:31:00 GMT 2010
A bit of sunshine this morning is proving stimulating after several days of rain and more rain, could it be more wet and muddy I doubt it.

I am getting all my widgets sorted out and putting these on my new Links page, it is good to feel everything can be linked up in this way.  Just love that name 'widget' !

I am also adding some of my favourite product sites here, the sites of good friends who run their own businesses and are always there for support. Check them out you I'm sure you will love their stuff as well.

My thoughts of course are leaking out to the weekend and although I have the usual morning of dropping my sons to basketball and tennis club tomorrow and a practice for the District Cubs cooking competition, I am hoping to get to 'unravel' at some point.  Unravel is a 'festival of knitting' being held at Farnham Maltings on both Saturday and Sunday, see www.farnhammaltings.com  looks absolutely great and perfect for all of you that like a good yarn !

Also on my hit list is the V&A exhibition Decode Digital Sensations, it looks wow and the V&A is one of my favourite museums, the museum of the decorative arts so of course it is ! I think this will be a good one for all the family.

Later I plan to book myself in to :

The Concise Dictionary of Dress at Blythe House
Judith Clark & Adam Phillips
Wednesday – Sunday
28 April – 27 June 2010

Psychoanalyst Phillips and costume curator Clark present an hour-long guided journey through Blythe House: the vast working store for the V&A’s reserve collections of furniture, ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles, fashion and fine arts. The tour uncovers hidden treasures and installations which address ideas relating to identity, language, fashion and history.

Sounds fab, details of both of these events are on the V&A website.

Well must get on with the widgets now, tidy up the studio and get the kettle on as it's open studio day today.

I think my blog must be feeling a bit neglected !

It's been half term this week and having 3 school aged boys around is somewhat distracting..

I have to report that I enjoyed the Valentine's Ball in Glasgow and saw plenty of Rennie MacIntosh design !  The meringues at the Willow Tea Room were huge and delicious and a good sugary boost after a late boozy night.

A large pallet of white china arrived this week and I have been busy decorating, the kiln has been buzzing and the empty shelves are getting re-stocked.

We are gaining some fans at our fan page on Facebook, why not join up and share with your friends - Joanna London Print Decorated Ceramics, that would be great.

I attended a useful Business Link sponsored evening about writing copy for your website and ensuring your website is legal.  I came away thinking I am doing quite well, (hope so) my web hosts 'do your own site' have been good and cover lots of the stuff.  This week I am going to check over the notes and my web content to do a bit of tweaking, every little helps !
